With Mo Salah’s Liverpool contract continuing to edge towards a close, speculation around his departure is growing in frequency and severity.
Taking to X, Ben Jacobs reported: ‘Keep an eye on Al-Hilal if Neymar departs. Big push expected to bring a marquee signing ahead of the Club World Cup. Neymar exit frees up further budget.
‘SPL expected to take FIFA up on the ‘exceptional window’ between 1-10 June. Hilal’s dream remains Mo Salah joins and plays at the #CWC.’
It seems then that Neymar leaving Al-Hilal is now more likely than ever and that means the 32-year-old’s current club will be looking for a big name to fill his place.

Given the prestige of our No.11 and his current contract situation, it’s no surprise that he’s being linked with moves to any club, especially those who are seemingly able to write blank cheques out for players.
It’s not the first time that the Senior Football Correspondent for Give Me Sport has linked our No.11 to the Saudi Pro League outfit, previously naming them the ‘most likely destination’ for our winger.
Given the reputation of our 32-year-old in the middle east and the money on offer in the league, it’s no surprise that he’s been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
KSA Sports channel pundit Khaled Al-Shenaif has shared his confidence that both Virgil van Dijk and the Egyptian are very close to calling Riyadh their new home and play for the side currently sat top of the league.
Whether this proves to be true or not, by allowing our Premier League record goal scorer and captain to run their contracts down to the final few months – talk like this was always going to follow.
