It seems to be a battle between Marcus Rashford and Kyle Walker as AC Milan pursue two Englishmen to bolster the squad available to Sergio Conceicao.
According to MilanNews, the Walker and Rashford pursuits are running parallel but cannot merge due to a regulatory stipulation that prevents Milan from being able to sign more than one English player in January.
There are several reasons that the Milan management are keen on signing Walker, who they believe could represent a top-quality addition not only in technical terms, but above all in the dressing room. Comparisons have been drawn with the signing of Simon Kjaer in the 2019-20 winter window.
The feeling is that the Englishman could bring to Milanello a winning mentality that he acquired in the golden cycle of Pep Guardiola’s City, of which he was one of the undisputed leaders on and off the pitch
Being a reference point in the dressing room is probably useful to a team that lack charismatic leaders. Walker’s experience could also serve as a stimulus to the entire group, raising the level of attention in training and in games.
