Major League Soccer published its Player Status Report for Saturday's Matchday 8 fixtures on Friday afternoon. Here's a summary of some of the biggest news from the bulletin.

Former Crystal Palace man Wilfried Zaha will miss a second game this season for Charlotte FC as he recovers from surgery he underwent on Monday.

Manager Dean Smith revealed his omission from the squad during his pregame remarks. The ailment isn't expected to keep the former Ivorian international out long term.

Charlotte will face CF Montreal on Saturday night as winless Montreal becomes the last MLS team to play its home opener.

Zaha's first absence came in Charlotte's season opener, when he had not arrived in the United States in time to join the team for its 2-2 draw at Seattle.

Jordan Morris returns, Albert Rusnak (adductor) out for Seattle

The Sounders will be marginally healthier when they visit FC Dallas on Saturday, but still not as close to fully fit as they'd like.

A week after Pedro de la Vega made his return from a quadriceps injury late in a 3-0 loss at San Diego, striker Jordan Morris has been cleared to come back from a hamstring issue for his first action since the second leg of Seattle's second-round Concacaf Champions Cup series against Cruz Azul.

However, he'll be replaced on the team injury list by attacking midfielder Albert Rusnak, who was forced off at halftime of that defeat in Southern California.

Morris has three goals in three MLS appearances this season.

Evander (knee) still questionable for Cincinnati

Evander, the 2024 MLS MVP finalist, is apparently not fully guaranteed to be able to return from a knee injury when FC Cincinnati visits D.C. United on Saturday.

Evander had scored a team-leading four goals before missing last weekend's 1-0 home win over the New England Revolution. He had been listed as questionable heading into that contest, but ultimately didn't make the matchday squad.

If he can't play again Saturday, he'll join a team injury list that includes Teenage Hadebe (leg), Yuya Kubo (leg) and Obinna Nwobodo (leg).

Campana (hamstring) upgraded to questionable for New England

The New England Revolution are no longer winless, but they are still desperate for an offense that has scored an MLS-worst three goals (including one own-goal).

Maybe striker Leonardo Campana will be able to provide some in Saturday afternoon's match at Atlanta United.

The Ecuadorian international has been upgraded to questionable for the first time since sustaining a hamstring strain in his third game for the Revolution. He has yet to score for Caleb Porter's side, but had 28 goals over his three previous seasons for Inter Miami.

Zimmerman (concussion protocol) out for Nashville

Most expected Walker Zimmerman would not play this weekend for Nashville SC's clash with Real Salt Lake after the scary injury that forced him out during the second half of a 2-1 loss at Charlotte FC.

But the USMNT center back made a speedier recovery than some may have first feared, checking out of the hospital the same day as he arrived following his collision with Kerwin Vargas' boot.
