Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez will fly back to the United Kingdom to undergo a medical ahead of his transfer to Liverpool, according to The Athletic.
The young left-back has been on holiday in Belgrade, but will now return to England to complete his move to Merseyside, with the transfer expected to be announced on Tuesday.
Kerkez has made no secret of his desire to join Liverpool, who struck an agreement worth £40 million with Bournemouth to sign the defender.
The 21-year-old joined the Cherries in 2023 and has gone on to establish himself as a key first-team player.
He has made 74 appearances across all competitions, bagging two goals and eight assists in the process.
Kerkez played a pivotal role in helping his team secure a ninth-place league finish last term, averaging 1.4 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 4.4 ball recoveries and 2.6 clearances per match.
Andy Robertson has been Liverpool’s first-choice left-back over the years, but at 31, he is no longer the player he once was.
Therefore, the Reds opted to pursue a deal for Kerkez to compete with Robertson.
Arne Slot’s side have been very active in the ongoing summer transfer window.
They have already completed the club-record signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £116m.
Jeremie Frimpong has also arrived from the Bundesliga club, while goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has joined their ranks from Puskas Akademia.
