A major step in getting Milos Kerkez to Liverpool has now been confirmed. The Reds should get their left-back.
It's no great secret that Liverpool hope to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. The left-back has been on the Reds' radar for some time now.
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in November that initial talks had been held about a move. Things have progressed since then, with Liverpool honing in on the Hungarian international.
There have been other options, of course. Antonee Robinson at Fulham was reportedly considered, as was Ajax star Jorrel Hato.
But it's Kerkez that Liverpool want. They've been pushing for this move as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson.
And now things have taken a giant step forward.
One thing standing in the way of Kerkez to Liverpool has been Bournemouth's desire to sign a replacement. They wanted to make sure someone was lined up before all the pieces clicked together.
Their target? Adrien Ruffert of Rennes.
Bournemouth have been linked for a little while and negotiations were thought to have gone well. Now Le Parisien reports there was a breakthrough on Monday night as the two clubs found agreeable terms.
