Milan Futuro 0-2 Caldiero Terme: Coppa Italia journey ends at home | OneFootball

Milan Futuro’s first ever Coppa Italia Serie C campaign came to an end on Wednesday night in front of their own fans as they lost 2-0 to Caldiero Terme.

Coming into this game, the Futuro fell to a late defeat against Vis Pesaro away from home on Sunday afternoon, losing 2-1 and once again failing to build on a positive previous result.

Ultimately, it was a familiar story tonight as they said goodbye to the Coppa Italia. It was a game in which the team did not perform too badly, but Daniele Bonera’s men appear to be still too inexperienced for this type of match.

The first goal went in after 15 minutes for the visitors through Scappini. It was a great shot from the edge of the box, one which seemed to almost take Lapo Nava by surprise as it nestled inside the post.

Milan tried to get themselves back level but ultimately got caught a bit flat-footed for the goal that made it 0-2. It was a weaving run from Zerbato who cut through the entire area while maintaining possession, beating Nava with a diagonal shot.

There were two big chances for the Rossoneri to get right back into it after the break. The first was a free-kick from Chaka Traore that was saved, then Samuele Longo hit the crossbar with a long-range attempt.
