Serie A side Milan witnessed another chaotic day yesterday, as the spokesperson of manager Sergio Conceicao made some controversial statements about the club’s approach in the January transfer window and the lack of fitness of players.
This was later denied by the Portuguese, who is struggling to turn around the Rossoneri’s fortunes.
Luca Bianchin has now relayed information that Conceicao’s spokesperson – Francisco Empis, has now resigned. He announced this publicly, stating that he apologises for damaging the reputation of the Rossoneri and as a result, he wishes to stop working with Conceicao.
Empis has apologised to Milan and the manager, saying: “The information published contains several errors and inaccuracies, in particular regarding the relationships between the team members, the technical staff and the management of Milan. They do not reflect the truth of the facts, but rather rumors and suppositions without any factual basis.”
The spokesperson had provided information to multiple outlets – including La Repubblica, about the manager’s dissatisfaction with the structure of Milanello (not up to the standard of a top club), the athletic preparation of the team under Fonseca, the insufficient commitment of some of the players and above all the lack of support from the management, between the absence of a clear direction in the technical project.
