Middlesbrough have added to their squad with the loan capture of Manchester City midfielder Sverre Nypan, who will spend the season at the Riverside.
The 18-year-old, already capped at under-21 level for Norway, only moved to City in June from Rosenborg in a £12.5 million switch.
He was spotted meeting supporters and signing shirts at Boro’s open training session on Monday, and the club have now confirmed him as their fifth arrival of the summer.
Nypan first broke through at Rosenborg as a 15-year-old, racking up 70 senior appearances before heading to the Premier League champions earlier this year.
He joins Alfie Jones, Callum Brittain, Abdoulaye Kanté and Sontje Hansen as part of Michael Carrick’s summer rebuild.
