Mexico remains first, Costa Rica, Curaçao rise in July Concacaf Men's National Team Rankings

MIAMI –Mexico retained first place while Costa Rica, Guatemala and Curaçao improved their standing in the latest Concacaf Men's National Team Rankings update, following the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup and recent Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Concacaf Ranking Index grades all national teams across the confederation. Nations gain points for results in the on-going Nations League, the Concacaf Gold Cup, and other international matches.

Mexico keeps the top spot after winning 10th Gold Cup
Mexico (2,024) leads the overall rankings after winning the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, improving by 78 points after winning the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals earlier this year.
With goals from two of its leaders, star forward Raúl Jiménez and team captain Edson Álvarez, Mexico defeated the United States 2-1 in the 2025 Gold Cup Final earlier this month.
The Mexican men’s national team extended its record as the all-time winner in the tournament to ten trophies.
Manager Javier Aguirre collected his second Gold Cup, previously leading his home nation to the title at the 2009 edition, and completed the double with the CNL trophy earlier this year.
Costa Rica jumps into top four
Costa Rica (1,740) jumped into the top four as one of the sides that improved their standing thanks to its performance in the 2025 Gold Cup.
Los Ticos undefeated campaign, which ended in elimination on penalties in the Quarterfinals, saw the side improve by 72 points – the second most among nations in the top ten after champions Mexico.
Panama (1,832) and Canada (1,812) retained their places in the top three, swapping the second and third place spots between them.
Gold Cup runners-up, the United States (1,732) fell one spot to fifth, rounding out the top five.
Honduras and Guatemala move up in Central American ranking
Honduras (1,568) moved up one spot to sixth overall and third among Central American nations. Los Catrachos improved 34 points with its run to the Gold Cup semifinals.
Guatemala (1,443) moved up to eighth overall and fourth in Central America. Returning to the Gold Cup semifinals after 29 years, Los Chapines improved by 66 points.
El Salvador (1,195) fell three places to 14th overall to round out the top five from Central America.
Curaçao and Dominican Republic move up in the Caribbean ranking after Gold Cup and the World Cup Qualifiers
At seventh overall, Jamaica (1,515) is the top ranked Caribbean nation.
Haiti (1,374) dropped to ninth place and Trinidad and Tobago (1,357) maintained its 10th overall position as the second and third best ranked from the Caribbean.
Curaçao (1,214) moved up to 11th overall and fourth in the Caribbean thanks to an 84-point improvement. Suriname (1,207) remained at 12th overall to round the top five from the region.
Martinique (1,202) at 13th overall and the Dominican Republic (1,045) at 18th overall also improved their standing by one spot.
Curaçao made the biggest jumping four places
Curaçao (1,214) had the best improvement in the latest rankings by rising four places in the latest rankings. The Caribbean nation gained 84 points, more than any other nation during the current ranking period.
Curaçao earned a 4-nil win against Saint Lucia and a 5-1 win over Haiti in early June to advance remain undefeated in its quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, advancing to the Third Round of Concacaf Qualifiers. Earning draws against El Salvador and Canada in the Gold Cup, Curaçao feel 2-1 to Honduras in its final Group Stage match.
Grenada (807) was the second most improved side, rising three spots to 24th overall after gaining 68 points. Grenada earned a 6-nil victory over The Bahamas and a 3-2 win at Saint Kitts and Nevis in World Cup Qualifying, just missing out advancing to the Third Round on goal difference.
Guatemala provides the biggest upset with win over Jamaica in Gold Cup group stage
Guatemala provided the biggest upset as the previously ranked ninth overall nation with a 1-nil victory over then sixth place Jamaica in the Group Stage of the 2025 Gold Cup.
Oscar Santis scored the lone goal of the encounter in the 32’ as both nations began their respective campaigns on June 16 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, USA.
