Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest deals dominating the papers in Spain, as revealed in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing.

Dani Ceballos departure from Real Madrid hinges on price

We can speak about Real Betis, and a potential exit for Dani Ceballos, but the issue is the price. As much as he may or may not want to leave, Real Madrid are not going to give him away as he just renewed his deal.

It’s not easy for a club like Betis to find an agreement with Real Madrid for a player like Ceballos. I think Ceballos will speak with Real Madrid again to try and find the best solution, but having just renewed last summer, Los Blancos have no reason to let him go on the cheap.

I don’t have any confirmation that Betis are actually interested, but in general, the fee and the salary are difficult for them. There are maybe teams in the Premier League and Italy that have enquired about him, but I have no confirmation that any team has moved for him beyond that.

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati prefers to remain in Spain next season

Ansu Fati would rather stay in Spain. Clearly, there will be a lot of interest from elsewhere, from outside of Spain, but Fati wants to do the preseason with Hansi Flick, to see if he can find a way to stay at Barcelona next season by convincing the new manager.

But it is true what Sport reported last week – Barcelona are looking for exit routes for Fati this summer. Up front, they are going to do what they can to bring back Joao Felix, and there are not lot of free spots. So they are looking for options that they can bring to him. No doubt there are clubs that like him, but I have no information on any that are making themselves known.

It’s been rumoured that Olympique Marseille could move for him, because Roberto de Zerbi coached him at Brighton and Hove Albion, but from Marseille I’m told that they are not moving for Ansu. As I say, he prefers to say in Spain.

Whispers around Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia at Barcelona

It’s a situation that has to be monitored. I think that new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick wants to evaluate things properly on the pitch before taking firm decisions. Clearly, there are things that you hear from the sporting department about it. Right now though, I don’t have concrete confirmation or news that Flick prefers one or the other.

What I’m told is that in general, he wants to see everyone in training first. For example, Pablo Torre, who looked likely to exit again under Xavi Hernandez, he will do the preseason with Flick before they make a decision on his future – that’s where we are at with a lot of Barcelona players.

The truth about Mason Greenwood to Lazio and Juventus rumours

A lot of rumours have come out linking Mason Greenwood with a move to Italy, but the reality is that he is no closer to a move there than anywhere else. It is true that clubs like Lazio or Juventus have enquired about him – but just to gather information on the potential conditions of a deal, salary, price and so on.

Lazio spoke with Manchester United, about commissions, conditions and the like, but that’s where it ended. Currently my information is that it is very difficult for Greenwood to end up in Italy next season – I see him going elsewhere.

Villarreal drop out of Nicolo Zaniolo race as Atalanta take the lead

A lot of rumours have come out about Fiorentina and Nicolo Zaniolo. Villarreal asked about Zaniolo, and were even negotiating with Galatasaray for Nicolo Zaniolo, but when the possibility to go to Atalanta came up, he only had his mind on a return to Italy, and his top priority is to go to Atalanta.

Other teams have enquired about him, the Fiorentina stuff came out, but I am told that Atalanta are still leading the race for him, they are in pole position, and they have an agreement on personal terms with him. They are negotiating a loan with an option to buy with Galatasaray, which could become obligatory depending on certain conditions. Villarreal have given up on Zaniolo now.

Matteo Moretto will be back with more transfer news in the coming days, providing exclusive information on the biggest stories in Spain and Italy.
