Chelsea reporter for The Telegraph, Matt Law, says ‘thank god Chelsea didn’t’ sign a player for £50m in the January transfer window.

The Blues did hardly any business in the winter window even though they needed a new striker. They have continued to be linked with Victor Osimhen though perhaps for the summer.

EXCLUSIVE! Enzo Maresca under pressure with Blues hierarchy unhappy and concerned with results and form!

But at the end of this season, it is expected that the striker will be making his next permanent move, and Chelsea are still being linked with him.

However, Osimhen is not the only striker being mentioned alongside Chelsea, and many other clubs by the way. The main striker who keeps getting linked and just feels like it is destined to happen is Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Chelsea seem to be looking at him much closer than they are looking at any other striker right now, including Osimhen.

Chelsea almost signed Garnacho

Chelsea came close to signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho in the winter transfer window but they didn’t go through with it in the end. And Law says he is glad Chelsea didn’t sign him after watching him play recently.

Speaking on the latest London is Blue Podcast, Law says:

“They [Chelsea] looked at Garnacho in terms of trying to find a solution on the wing, I watched Garnacho against Spurs, and he missed three big chances and quite friendly, I was sat there thinking, thank God Chelsea didn’t go and spend 40-50 million on Garnacho.”

I guess this just sums up how awful Chelsea’s supposed ‘expert’ sporting directors are right now even if the club miraculously and stupidly continue to back and defend them.
