Brentford B will host Chelsea Under-21s at Wheatsheaf Park on Saturday (4pm kick-off) as they their pre-season preparations draw to a close.

Following last week's test against Brighton, Neil MacFarlane's side will be looking for a positive performance against a talented Chelsea team.

MacFarlane is always eager to face tough opposition and looking ahead at the Chelsea fixture, the B-team head coach wants his team to replicate the fantastic 65 minutes they showed against Brighton for the entire game.

“The boys have been working hard in training, doing the right things and creating the right habits” he said.

“These habits are what will ultimately create a successful team. The first 65 minutes was the first time that group had played together this pre-season and they were fantastic.

"We were unlucky with the result but that is what pre-season is for, it is to set the foundation, I have no doubts the results will follow.”

MacFarlane acknowledges that facing a Chelsea side littered with talent from not only England but across the world will be tough but it is a challenge he believes his players will embrace.

“We played Chelsea last season and competed well; we have to do that again," he said.

"They are a very good team and we will have to make sure we embrace the challenge. I trust that there will be a number of fans on the day for the game so it will be a great test again for our boys."
