Nizaar Kinsella is covering Chelsea’s game against Liverpool for BBC Sport, and he noted how good Enzo Fernandez’s run of form is after he scored the opening goal in this game.

The Argentine has got better and better, and playing further forward in the team is really suiting him.

Enzo’s superb numbers tick up again

“Enzo Fernandez has seven goals and 13 assists in 41 games in all competitions this season,” Kinsella wrote on the BBC’s live text.

“The 24-year-old midfielder is in a rich vein of form and has added a goal to his four assists in his last three matches for Chelsea across all competitions. And this match at home to Liverpool, a club that once targeted him, is ongoing and he is starting to live up to his gargantuan £107million price tag.”

That price tag will always be on his back, no matter how well he does. But this goal may well be worth tens of millions by itself if we make it in the Champions League thanks to 3 points won today.

Liverpool fans wound up by Kinsella’s Martian tweet

Nizaar Kinsella’s cheeky Tweet about Martians thinking Chelsea should be Champions.

Kinsella also amusingly noted after the opening stages that Chelsea had been by far the better team, claiming that someone “from Mars” watching the game would think that it was the Blues who were runaway champions rather than the Reds.

Since he wrote it, the away team have come into the game a little more, but the Blues have still had the best of it and have had the best chances in the game.

As you’d expect, the Tweet was followed by dozens of replies from rattled Reds fans pointing out they’ve rotated their team, and that they’ve got nothing to play for (as though Kinsella didn’t already know that).
