Marseille preparing for potential Mason Greenwood departure next summer | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille are preparing for a potential “major transfer” next summer for English winger Mason Greenwood (23). Les Olympiens are reportedly pursuing a move for Lille’s Edon Zhegrova (26) in anticipation of a transfer away from the club for Greenwood in summer 2026. Marseille sporting director Medhi Benatia has reportedly been a long-time admirer of Zhegrova, but LOSC have set an asking price of between €15m-€20m for the Kosovan international.Greenwood arrived at Marseille in the summer of 2024 from Manchester United in a deal worth €31.5m, following the end of a loan spell with Spanish side Getafe. In his first season with the club, the Englishman scored 22 goals in all competitions and finished the season as the club’s top scorer. Greenwood left Manchester United after charges against him, including attempted rape and assault, were dropped in February 2023.
