Marseille enter talks with Lille for Edon Zhegrova | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille have entered into discussions with Lille OSC for Edon Zhegrova (26).

On Friday, Lille president Olivier Létang revealed that Zhegrova could remain at the club for the season, and on Monday, he was reintegrated into the squad. A situation which would allow Zhegrova to play in the first team, before leaving on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract next summer.

Létang, at the time, explained that no French clubs had approached Lille for the winger. However, this situation appears to have changed, according to Foot Mercato’s report. They write that Marseille have now approached their northern counterparts and discussed a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause attached.

Zhegrova is reportedly very keen to join up with Marseille, who will be playing in the UEFA Champions League this season. This news comes as Jonathan Rowe’s future in La Provence remains uncertain, Marseille have placed a €20m valuation on the winger amid interest from Premier League clubs.
