Enzo Maresca says central defenders Tosin and Wesley Fofana are available to play against West Ham on Friday.

Tosin missed out in the Blues’ opening day draw with Crystal Palace through injury, while Fofana was an unused substitute with Maresca revealing afterwards that he was not ready to take part in the game.

But both are able to play a part against the Hammers.

Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile both remain out with injuries, however.

Maresca said ahead of the game: “Romeo is still out, Benoit is still out, Wes is back and that’s all.

“Tosin is available for tomorrow. I’m a little bit surprised because last week he was not available, the day before it was everywhere that he’s not available, and now I don’t know why you don’t know he is available.

“The last week, the day before the game against Palace, it was everywhere that he was not available and now you don’t know that he’s available the day before the game.”

Maresca also confirmed that forwards Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku will not be part of the squad with the duo exploring moves away from the club.

“He (Jackson) is available but he’s not going to be part of the squad because as we already said, we have two strikers, two players in that position, and also we know that something can happen before the transfer window closes,” Maresca said.

“Christopher is with us like Nico but it’s the same answer as Nico.

“The other two players (Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell) are training apart waiting for a solution.

“In the end I think it’s always better if they can find a solution because they’re going to be more happy and the club the same.”

On what would happen if Jackson and Nkunku do not leave the club this summer, Maresca added: “No idea. It’s not the moment to be honest. We are still two weeks (from the deadline) but also no idea. It’s difficult to plan because anything can happen.”

Another player who looks set to depart Chelsea is defender Aarón Anselmino, who Maresca is keen to send out on loan in order to get more game time.

He said: “Aaron is training with us, training very hard. He’s a fantastic boy, good player, but he needs to play games. He needs to go and play games.

“He’s another player that is waiting for a solution.”
