The Ruben Amorim era got off to a flying start as Marcus Rashford sensationally scored for Manchester United after just 80 seconds against Ipswich Town.
Rashford was named as United's starting striker ahead of Rasmus Hojlund, flanked by attacking midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho as Amorim implemented his favoured 3-4-3 formation.
Amad Diallo was given a new role, starting at right wing-back opposite Diogo Dalot, and it was the Ivorian's brilliance that set Amorim up for the best possible start.
Bursting down the flank after a neat interchange with Bruno Fernandes, Amad weighted a perfect cross onto the outstretched leg of Rashford, who turned the ball home from close range to send United's supporters wild.
Amorim remained cool and composed on the touchline, taking a sip from his water bottle as he watched the replay, but not even the talented Portuguese coach could have envisaged getting off to such a sensational start.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were handed starts in the centre of midfield, with United's three centre-backs comprised of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Jonny Evans - Leny Yoro not in the squad despite training towards the end of the week.
The bench included Luke Shaw, back in the fold after more injury woes, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Antony and Mason Mount, who Amorim claimed in the build-up to the match will be a "perfect" player for the system he wants to play.
"We have to be patient but we know we have to win games," Amorim told Sky Sports before kick-off. "We will change some things but not too much. First win, I'll be a happy man.
"I am a different person on a game-day, a little bit anxious. I don't know what to expect. It's a new life. Let's start with the small details."
