Roma midfielder Manu Kone spoke to forzaroma.info about the first half of the team’s preseason under the order of Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Frenchman was asked about rumors of PSG’s interest in him, “I’m Parisian and I’m happy they’re doing well, but they’ve never approached me. Roma is a great club, I’m happy to represent them, but in football it’s not easy to talk about the future.”
“Was last season difficult? Collectively, maybe yes. The best thing is to always have the same coach to understand his needs, but I know how to adapt.”
When asked about Gasperini’s demands towards him, Kone replied, “Midfielders don’t score many goals. I can improve, but that’s not a requirement. The goal is to win back balls, move the ball around, and not lose it.”
“El Aynaoui? We speak the same language, and that helps our relationship. To do well on the pitch, it’s important to get along off it. When one player drops down, the other drops out, and vice versa.”
On Lazio rival and close friend, Mateo Guendouzi, “You know better than me what the derby means in Rome. We were lucky enough to win it last season. You know what happened with him, but we’ve sorted everything out. There are no friends on the pitch.”
