Manchester United have today learned their fate for what awaits them after the summer break.
The beginning of 2025/2026 marks the first full campaign for Ruben Amorim in the Red Devils dugout, with the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss being given the time to make amends following the side’s dismal 15th-placed finish last term — their lowest ever finish in the Premier League era.
United won only 11 matches throughout 2024/2025 and were on the receiving end of a whopping 18 defeats. They scored 44 goals in 38 matches, ranking second behind Everton for the lowest goals scored of any of the teams that avoided relegation, whilst also finishing with a measly goal difference of minus 10.
What’s more humiliating, six sides completed league doubles over the 20-time champions: Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Yet, the new season provides Amorim the opportunity for previous mishaps to be forgotten about — as long as his men are able to get off on the right foot when August [x] rolls around.
He has seen his options bolstered by the arrival of Molineux talisman Matheus Cunha, who is currently the club’s only signing of the summer thus far. They remain in talks with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and are sizing up a move for Eintracht Frankfurt starlet Hugo Ekitike.

United will see in the campaign when hosting Premier League runners-up Arsenal at Old Trafford, who finished on 74 points, 32 more than the Reds.
Fans can expect potential amendments to the exact dates and kick-off times depending on the first rounds of televised picks but, as things stand, here’s how the first few matchdays will look for the Old Trafford faithful:
Fans can still secure tickets to clashes like these, including our upcoming pre-season friendly with Fiorentina in August.
