Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

United are in the market for attacking reinforcements after an extremely poor season that currently has them in 16th place in the Premier League table.

The club’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday was their 17th league loss of the campaign, which is the most defeats they’ve suffered since 1973/74 (200, when they were relegated to the second tier.

A very busy transfer window awaits, with many areas of the pitch in need of urgent strengthening, but none more so than the attacking department. Scoring goals has been a huge problem for Ruben Amorim’s side all term, with their primary forward options of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee all struggling for form.

There is an acceptance that Amorim needs more quality firepower if he is to succeed in turning the Red Devils into a truly competitive outfit once again.

In addition to eyeing a striker, United are also believed to be keen on signing players capable of playing in the Number 10 position and possibly, the wing-back role.

United continue to be linked to the likes of Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Tyler Dibling (Southampton), Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) and now, it has emerged that Callum Hudson-Odoi is also of interest to them.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, “Manchester United keeping eye on Callum Hudson-Odoi’s situation at Nottingham Forest.”

“Talks over a new Forest contract are ongoing. Current deal up next summer.”

Last month, Sheth revealed that Italian giants Roma and Napoli are admirers of Odoi. Sheth added there were two other unnamed English clubs monitoring the situation and it seems United are one of these teams.

Hudson-Odoi has enjoyed a superb season with Forest, who have already secured Europa League football.

The Englishman has notched an impressive five goals and three assists in 29 Premier League games. Nuno Espirito Santo has primarily deployed Hudson-Odoi on the left flank, but he can also play to great effect on the right. He has also had a stint in the centre-forward role.

The 24-year-old, a Chelsea academy graduate, appears to have revived his career after a challenging spell that included a loan stint at Bayer Leverkusen.
