Manchester United are ready to steal Liverpool’s potential Mo Salah successor - even after the Reds put in a bid.

Pasion Futbol claims Manchester United are positioning themselves to sign Dario Osorio from FC Midtjylland. Erik Ten Hag has apparently asked for the player personally - he's the next pick for their right-wing role.

That's the role that Antony hasn't been able to tie down. Nor has really any United player in recent memory.

But they'll try and grab Osorio from Midtjylland in January, meaning a race is on to pick him up. It's one that could put Liverpool in a difficult position, too, given they're one of two rivals for the Chilean named here.

The other is Real Madrid. That's three of the world's biggest clubs pushing to sign Osorio - but United might be best-placed to snap him up as a first-team star.

Working in Liverpool's favour, however, is the fact they've already started making their move.

Liverpool want Dario Osorio

According to Danish paper Tipsbladet, Liverpool made a bid for Osorio in the summer. Midtjylland rejected it, though, believing they could get far more for the winger down the line.

They're almost certainly correct, too. Interest from United and Liverpool, let alone Real Madrid, would drive that price right up. And that's before other clubs inevitably get involved.

Liverpool have clearly laid some groundwork, however, and that could prove decisive. The 'problem' is that Mo Salah remains at the club and we're not sure the Reds could guarantee Osorio proper playing time with the Egyptian in place.

But that could all change rapidly. Salah's contract is expiring and if he doesn't sign a new one, Liverpool's right flank will be vacant for the first time in eight years.

Osorio might just fancy his chances of filling it. Let's see if he's Liverpool's choice for one of the more difficult tasks in football - replacing Salah.
