Manchester United talks with Bayern Munich collapse over Mathys Tel | OneFootball

Talks have broken down between Manchester United and Bayern Munich over a move to Old Trafford for Mathys Tel (19), according to Fabrice Hawkins. The French centre-forward was reportedly keen to secure regular football away from the Allianz Arena, which prompted Premier League clubs to move for the Rennes Academy graduate. Tel was also open to a move to Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United but talks definitely broke down and Tel won’t secure a deadline day move to the Red Devils.

Hawkins understands that Bayern Munich were deemed too “greedy” in their exchanges with Manchester United. Other clubs remain in the hunt to land Tel before Monday’s closure of the winter transfer window. L’Equipe adds that United only offered Bayern Munich a loan with an option to buy over Tel whilst the Bundesliga giants expected to part ways with the Frenchman on a permanent basis. Tottenham previously agreed to €60m transfer package with Bayern for the 19-year-old, but the latter turned down the opportunity to sign for the North London-based Spurs.
