Manchester United have been spoken to about treble winning coach, Hansi Flick.

Current manager Erik ten Hag enjoyed a successful first season in England winning the Carabao Cup, finishing third in the league and reaching the final of the FA Cup.

However, this season has turned into a horror show as his side currently sit eighth in the table and it looks a very real possibility that United may not qualify for any European competition for the first time since 2014.

The team has already failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League and this has traditionally meant curtains for the United manager in charge.

There has naturally been much speculation about who would hypothetically be offered the job should Ten Hag depart and names such as Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate have all been mentioned.

However a new name that has cropped up is that of German coach, Hansi Flick.

It was assumed that the 2020 Champions League-winning coach was one of the favourites to land the Barcelona top job, but with Xavi’s shock decision to stay one more season, these plans have clearly gone up in smoke.

Consequently, the former Germany national team coach could make his way to English shores to carry on his managerial career.

TBR Football claim that they “understand that Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham United have all been spoken to in recent weeks about Hansi Flick.”

“Flick is open to the idea of moving to England and that desire has been relayed to prospective employers in the Premier League.”

“TBR has been informed by well placed sources that Flick is ready to return to club management for next season and his representatives have been doing their work across Europe.”

“Sources have confirmed to TBR that the 59-year-old has an ambition to manage in the Premier League and is attracted by the possible opportunities that could arise in England this summer.”

One player Flick would love to manage is that of Kobbie Mainoo, who he was rumoured to be interested in taking to Barcelona in the summer, had he been offered the job.

There are still many moving pieces in the managerial merry-go-round that is expected this summer but the 59 year old would certainly bring a wealth of experience of winning at the highest level should United decide to pursue him.
