Manchester United are reportedly preparing an ambitious move in the summer transfer window, with Alejandro Balde emerging as a priority target for the English club.

According to a report from Fichajes, United are looking to strengthen their squad, and to fund the transfer of the Barcelona left-back, they could be willing to part ways with Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford has been the subject of speculation for months. He was previously linked with a departure in the January transfer window, but manager Ruben Amorim played a key role in keeping him at the club.

However, given United’s financial situation and the need to reinforce their defence, they may now be prepared to sacrifice one of their most promising young talents.

Barcelona left-back on radar

The pursuit of Balde is no surprise, as the Barcelona full-back has proven to be a dynamic presence on the left flank. His speed, attacking contribution, and defensive reliability have made him one of the most exciting young defenders in the sport.

Amorim sees him as the ideal solution to United’s ongoing search for defensive reinforcements, even after the recent signing of Patrick Dorgu. Garnacho, on the other hand, remains a highly sought-after player in the transfer market.

Clubs such as Chelsea and Napoli have expressed interest in signing him, and given that he is a product of United’s academy, his sale would generate a significant financial gain for the club.

Barcelona will not let him leave

This could be a crucial factor in balancing their books while allowing them to pursue Balde. Barcelona, however, will not let Balde leave easily. The young left-back is valued at around €50 million, and strong competition for his signature could drive his price even higher.

United now face a difficult decision—strengthening their defence with a top-quality full-back would mean losing one of their brightest young stars.

With financial and tactical considerations at play, the prospect of Garnacho’s departure in exchange for Balde is becoming an increasingly realistic scenario.
