Manchester United have joined the queue to sign Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, according to Sky Sports.

Adarabioyo is in the final few months of his Fulham contract and is expected to leave Craven Cottage this summer having opted against a contract extension.

The 26-year-old’s impressive performances for the Cottagers have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs circling to acquire his services when the transfer window opens.

Adarabioyo’s impending free agent status makes him a particularly attractive proposition for clubs looking to bolster their defences without breaking the bank.

United are likely to undergo a significant squad overhaul in the summer so Adarabioyo’s availability on a free transfer presents a financially attractive option.

With 56 goals conceded across their 36 Premier League games, the Red Devils’ shaky backline has been a cause for concern and manager Erik ten Hag is looking to shore things up.

Man United’s search for defensive reinforcements comes as no surprise, with Raphael Varane set to leave as a free agent.

Question marks also remain about the futures of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.

The Red Devils could have an edge in the race for Adarabioyo’s signature thanks to their new technical director, Jason Wilcox, who previously worked with him at Manchester City.

However, they would still face competition from other clubs who could offer Champions League football and potentially higher wages.

AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to have already registered an interest in the defender.
