Manchester United are one of a number of top European clubs paying close attention to the exploits of Turkiye’s Bariş Alper Yilmaz during Euro 2024.

The 24 year old has played a vital role for his nation this summer, participating in all three of his side’s group games as they made it to the last sixteen. There, they will next face Ralf Rangnick’s Austria for a place in the quarter finals.

United are interested in bolstering their wing options as only Alejandro Garnacho had what could be classed as a successful season out wide for the Reds.

He has been likened to Gareth Bale due to his strength and speed by his former coach Ilker Puren, who also claimed it was inevitable that he will one day ply his trade in the Premier League.

The Turk has been labelled a “fabulous talent” who can “can literally play everywhere.”

In a summer where finances will be tighter than usual due to PSR restrictions and numerous holes need to be plugged in the team, the signing of the versatile Turk for a bargain basement price could turn out to be a masterstroke for Ineos.
