The powers that be at Premier League giants Manchester United are actively working towards a deal for Girona star Miguel Gutiérrez.
That’s according to transfer insider Rudy Galetti, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Manchester United are widely understood to be on the lookout for reinforcements on the left with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
This comes amid efforts to provide new head coach Ruben Amorim with the pieces required to build his ideal Red Devils XI.
And the aforementioned Gutiérrez, it would appear, fits the bill for club and manager alike.
As per a report from TeamTalk’s Rudy Galetti:
‘Manchester United are in direct contact with Girona to discuss the signing of left-back Miguel Gutierrez, who wants to leave.’
The 23-year-old, who has long stood out as one of La Liga’s best-performing full-backs, is understood to be keen on the prospect of a move to Old Trafford.
So much so that he has already begun discussing the personal terms of a contract with the United board.
Girona, for their part, appear resigned to a sale, despite the knowledge that 50% of any fee secured for Gutiérrez will be owed to Spanish top-flight rivals Real Madrid.
