Manchester United have confirmed this afternoon that Will Fish has completed a permanent move to Cardiff City.

The 21-year-old joins for a fee of £1 million, rising to £4m, with the club also inserting a 30 per cent sell-on clause to potentially benefit from any future sale.

Fish arrives in the Welsh capital boasting plenty of senior experience. While it hasn’t been at Old Trafford, he’s gained invaluable first-team minutes through loan spells with Stockport County and in consecutive seasons with Hibernian in 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.

He became the Reds’ 240th academy graduate on May 23, 2021, when he was awarded his maiden bow in the final game of the 2020/2021 campaign away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, entering the fray in the closing stages to mark a momentous career milestone.

Now, the young centre-half can hopefully continue on his upward trajectory with a new challenge in the second division. He’s put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Championship outfit, who’ll be looking to build on last term’s 12th-placed finish.
