Last night a report emerged that Manchester City had hit a snag in their bid to sign Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. Sam Lee and Sebastian Stafford-Bloor reported for The Athletic that the Bundesliga side had rejected City’s opening bid for the Egyptian international. But despite this setback, a new report indicates that City remain confident of completing a deal for Omar Marmoush.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that the deal that will see Omar Marmoush join Manchester City is 100% on. Furthermore, Romano reports that the world champions remain confident of signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s top-scorer this month.
It isn’t panic stations just yet for Manchester City in their bid to sign Omar Marmoush. There is still plenty of time remaining in the January transfer window. Although Pep Guardiola’s squad could do with the addition of Marmoush sooner rather than later City have time on their side in their bid to satisfy Eintracht Frankfurt’s demands to sell one of the Bundesliga’s top performers this season.
There is no doubt that Omar Marmoush would improve Manchester City’s attacking play although Pep Guardiola’s side did show plenty of positive signs going forward against Brentford. Erling Haaland, Savinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden offered plenty up front, and City’s attack arguably put in one of their better displays for some time at the GTech Community Stadium. There was a fluidity to their combination play which hasn’t always been seen this season. The issue was that their finishing undid a lot of the good work in the final third. The Egyptian international will help in this regard if and when he finally arrives at the Etihad.
But there is still confidence that Omar Marmoush will join Manchester City sooner rather than later. Negotiations continue between the two teams and the hope is that a deal can be agreed shortly.
