Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly been offered the chance to recruit one of Erik ten Hag’s out-of-favour attacking players.

Etihad Stadium officials are understood to be on the search for a new wide-sided talent to come into Pep Guardiola’s squad and add a different dimension to the team’s attacking set-up for the forthcoming season.

Manchester City are believed to have signed Savio from fellow City Football Group side ESTAC Troyes, with the future of the Brazilian international subject to an assessment made on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States this summer.

However, in a sensational twist, Manchester City have now been offered the chance to re-sign one of their former bright sparks in the Academy who went on to excel with Borussia Dortmund, before signing for rivals Manchester United.

Sancho is facing a huge summer in his own career having returned to Old Trafford from a loan spell with Borussia Dortmund for the second-half of the most-recently concluded season, culminating in a UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, out-of-favour Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has now been offered to Etihad Stadium recruitment bosses in recent weeks.

It is claimed that those at Old Trafford working on the future of the former Manchester City Academy starlet are ‘willing’ to sell for just £40 million, despite having spent around £73 million on his signing from Borussia Dortmund.

The England international has also reportedly been touted to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, and with Sancho said to be earning around £275,000 a week, the source indicates that there are no takers at such wages.

Should the most remarkable of twists come to fruition this summer and Jadon Sancho somehow joined Manchester City, the Englishman would be reunited with a number of familiar faces from his time as a permanent star in the Dortmund squad.

Sancho continues to be a close friend of Manchester City’s superstar striker Erling Haaland, with the Norwegian international commenting in an interview upon joining the Etihad club, “Jadon Sancho and I had a great connection on and off the pitch at Dortmund.

“He plays for the other lot (Manchester United) now though, so maybe we’ll have to meet in secret!”

Sancho signed for Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a fee reported to be in the region of £8 million and was immediately included in the German club’s first-team squad.

The forward later admitted that he felt confident in making the move abroad and away from the English game due to his previous experiences in relocating away from London to Manchester City as a 14-year-old.
