Manchester City have distanced themselves from reports linking the club with a move for AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked with signing Akliouche, following Jack Grealish’s departure for Everton and interest from Tottenham Hotspur in Savinho.
Akliouche scored five goals and provided 10 assists in Ligue 1 last season as Monaco secured Champions League qualification.
However, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the 23-year-old is not a transfer target for Manchester City at this time. No talks have taken place for the Frenchman, with City focused on their number one Savinho replacement.
Should the Brazilian leave for Spurs, City will attempt to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid. The latter has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this summer after expressing unhappiness in the Spanish capital.
The 24-year-old is keen for a more prominent role and wants to feature in his preferred position on the left-wing. Real Madrid are willing to sanction his sale for the right fee, with the player valued at around €100m at the Bernabeu (£86.2m).
Spurs have submitted an opening offer for Savinho, but their €50m bid falls significantly short of City’s asking price. The 21-year-old is open to a move to Spurs in search of a more regular role.
