Man Utd predicted lineup vs West Ham

Man Utd (3-4-2-1): Bayindir; Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Dorgu, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amass; Diallo, Mount; Obi-Martin.

There’s nothing on the line for either of these sides in terms of the Premier League. Man Utd go into the game 15th, but do arrive off the back of a Europa League semi-final win. Their season will be based on the final in a few weeks, and building momentum.

Man Utd team news vs West Ham

Man Utd went full strength in midweek against Athletic Bilbao, so we may see a more rotated side this weekend. There was a blow in Man Utd’s league defeat to Brentford last weekend, with Matthijs de Ligt injured, and the Dutchman is fighting to be fit before the end of the campaign.

So that does slightly limit Man Utd’s centre-back options. As a result, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof may retain their places from midweek, with Luke Shaw a potential to replace Leny Yoro should Ruben Amorim which to rotate.

Diogo Dalot faces a late fitness test to be available, so we may see Patrick Dorgu play as right-wing-back again, with Harry Amass on the left. In midfield, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo are the likely pairing.

It could be all change up front too. Chido Obi-Martin is ineligible for the Europa League so sat out of the win on Thursday. But he may come back in, to allow Rasmus Hojlund a rest.

Mason Mount has two goals in his past two games and could feature in one of the supporting roles, alongside Amad Diallo who might make his first start after returning from injury.

Has Mason Mount finally arrived?

Mason Mount hasn’t had an easy ride at Man Utd since joining last summer. The Englishman has played 42 times across all competitions for Man Utd, out of a possible 108. Injuries have been a big problem for Mount, stopping him from getting any real run of games.

And it’s affected Mount on the pitch too. The 26-year-old has been directly involved in just five goals in 42 games for Man Utd, scoring four and providing one assist. Those have come at an average of 0.32 per 90 minutes.

He’s created 1.03 chances per 90 and taken 2.07 shots, with 0.78 on target. But he’s found some form after his latest return from injury.

Mount has scored three goals in his past two games across all competitions. He scored in the 4-3 defeat to Brentford and then bagged a brace in the Europa League win over Athletic Bilbao. Across those two matches, Mount played just 85 minutes, scoring his three goals at a rate of 3.18 per 90.

He averaged 5.29 shots per 90 with 4.24 on target, and scored 1.06 big chances. Mount was more of a goal threat than a creator, but he also chipped in defensively with 5.29 tackles per 90 and 2.12 interceptions.

“It’s important for every player [to return],” Amorim told TNT Sports of Mount.

“But when you see that kind of guy working hard every day, eating well, resting, ice bath. He does everything.
