Bruno Fernandes has reiterated his commitment to Manchester United, even as he concedes that his future may lie outside Old Trafford if the club chooses to cash in. The Portuguese international’s comments come in the wake of Man Utd’s disappointing Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, a loss that has intensified scrutiny across the squad and raised fresh financial concerns.
“I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go,” Fernandes stated. “I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to great days.”
At 30, Fernandes remains one of the few constants in a side otherwise in flux. But the absence of Champions League football next season adds a layer of complexity to the decisions facing both club and captain.

The defeat to Spurs not only symbolised another missed opportunity, it also came with costly consequences. Without Champions League revenue, Man Utd face further limitations in the transfer market. This reality raises the possibility that Fernandes could be among those sacrificed to offset financial shortfalls.
“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cash in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this,” Fernandes added.
Speculation continues to link Fernandes with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal reportedly monitoring the situation. Head coach Ruben Amorim has underlined the midfielder’s value, calling him “one of the top players in the world” and urging Man Utd to keep him.

For now, Fernandes remains focused on the task at hand. But as the summer unfolds, his status could well become a key storyline in a period of uncertainty at Old Trafford.
