According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man United have agreed personal terms with Ugarte who is ‘keen’ for an Old Trafford switch.

French defender Leny Yoro officially joined United a few hours ago. Ugarte has the same agent – Jorge Mendes.

Agreeing personal terms is a major step for United. The club-to-club negotiations with PSG remain ongoing.

The Premier League giants’ next priority is a new midfielder, who have already signed a new striker and a defender.

Casemiro had a terrible 2023/24 season. His dip in form has raised questions about United’s midfield options but Ugarte could be the answer to their woes.

Sofyan Amrabat had a tough start to his life in England but his performances towards the end of the season impressed many critics.

United have a buy-clause in Amrabat’s loan deal, but are yet to trigger it.

Ugarte would be a solid addition to the squad but it will be difficult to sign him without generating funds through selling players.

Mason Greenwood has left the club for £23.3 million. The potential departures of Casemiro or Scott McTominay could pave the way for United to sign Ugarte.
