Introduction: Title-chasing Manchester City welcome 11th-placed Wolves to the Etihad Stadium for a Premier League clash on Saturday, with the match kicking off at 17:30 and being shown live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.

News Line: Manchester City are chasing a historic fourth title in a row, but they will need an improvement on last week’s showing at the CIty Ground as, despite eventually winning 2-0, they were outshot 14-11 by their relegation-threatened hosts Nottingham Forest and outplayed by the Reds for long periods.

Last Sunday’s match was Pep Guardiola’s 300th Premier League game in charge of City, with the victory in Nottingham marking his 221st in the division.

His feats at the Etihad are staggering and he will be keen to gain a 222nd win and take a huge step towards a fourth consecutive title, with the Citizens currently one point behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

Beating Wolves is not a foregone conclusion, however, as the Wanderers earned a shock 2-1 victory in September’s reverse fixture at Molineux.

Gary O’Neil’s first season in Wolverhampton has been a huge success as they sit comfortably in mid-table despite a plethora of injuries and a spate of controversial VAR decisions going against them.

Wanderers have won at Spurs and Chelsea already this season and could fare better than most at the Etihad, but given City are unbeaten in their last 19 league games and have won four on the spin, it is no surprise to see such short odds for a home win.

Man City vs Wolves Team News

Manchester City’s training session on Wednesday provided some good news for Citizens fans as Ederson, Ruben Dias and Phil Foden were all pictured taking part.

The former was forced off against Nottingham Forest with a shoulder injury, while the latter two missed that game through illness, but it seems like the trio are in contention to feature against Wolves.

Ederson may not be ready to start just yet, though, and Stefan Ortega is a more-than-capable deputy, so Guardiola could be unlikely to risk his number one, making the Brazilian City’s only potential absentee for Saturday’s game.

Erling Haaland made his return from the bench against Forest and feature from the start this weekend.

Wolves also enjoyed the return of key forwards last weekend as Hee-Chan Hwang and Matheus Cunha started together for the first time since December in their 2-1 win over Luton, and the pair should continue up front on Saturday.

Rayan Ait-Nouri was forced off in that win against the Hatters and will need to be assessed, although the early signs suggest his injury is not too serious.

Santiago Bueno, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Noha Lemina will face late fitness tests too, with the trio all said to be nearing a return.

The game comes too soon for Pedro Neto, though, who misses out alongside Craig Dawson, Leon Chiwome and Tommy Doyle, who is ineligible to face his parent club.
