Man City star ‘one step away’ from Real Sociedad move | OneFootball

An out-of-favour member of the defensive ranks at Premier League champions Manchester City is mere details away from a move to La Liga, with Real Sociedad.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Sergio Gómez as the player in question.

The name of defender Gómez has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in San Sebastian over the course of recent weeks.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Spaniard has been identified as a market opportunity on the part of the aforementioned Real Sociedad.

On the lookout for reinforcements at left-back following Kieran Tierney’s return to Arsenal, Gómez is considered the ideal replacement.

Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear with Man City, over a permanent summer transfer.

And, if the latest word to have come to the fore on Thursday evening is anything to go by, it would appear that such talks are primed to bear imminent fruit.

The transfer is expected to see La Real secure 75% of Gómez’s playing rights, for a fee in the region of €9 million.
