Manchester City broke their winless streak at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to book their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.

The tempo was high from the very start, matching the atmosphere in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It took Manchester City just five minutes put the ball in the back of the net when youngster Oscar Bobb tapped home a deflected shot, but the goal was ruled out after the winger was deemed to be offside.

Both teams went through long spells of possession, but ultimately both attacks were blunt in the opening 45 minutes.

A turnover of possession in their own half nearly cost Spurs, as the ball arrived to Kevin De Bruyne with the goal at his mercy, but the Belgian inexplicably sent his effort wide.

The deadlock was finally broken when a scramble in front of goal allowed Nathan Aké to stab home City’s opener, and their first ever goal the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Chelsea struggle to breakdown Villa in goalless draw

Despite creating a few clear-cut chances, Chelsea failed to down Aston Villa, forcing a replay at Villa Park to come.

Chelsea dominated the ball in the early going, setting the tempo on their home pitch. But Villa remained threatening on the break.

That threat appeared to grow too ominous for the hosts, as Villa scored through Douglas Luiz before the 15-minute mark, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR check revealed a hand-ball.

Chelsea remained in full control after the early scare, pinning Villa deep into their own half. Mauricio Pochettino’s men could only probe the visitors’ backline however.

Cole Palmer was on the receiving end of a mistake at the back from Villa, but the winger scuffed his close-range effort wide of the keeper.

Bristol City play out stalemate with Nottingham Forest

A relatively lifeless affair in Bristol saw City snatch a draw against Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest to force a replay at the City Ground.

It was a turgid opening 15 minutes, with both sides struggling to create any meaningful scoring opportunities.

The game failed to open up after the break, despite Forest coming out on the front foot.

With less than one xG created through an hour played, the lack of cutting edge was on full display.

Wednesday score late to force replay with Coventry

Scorers: Gassama 84′ ; Torp 45′

The only goals on the night came at Hillsborough, where Sheffield Wednesday scored late to force a replay with Coventry City.

It was Coventry who carved out the first meaningful chance, but Victor Torp was unable to convert his effort from outside of the box.

The visitors finally broke the deadlock at the end of the first-half when Torp redeemed his earlier miss, putting Coventry ahead in the dying minutes of the opening interval on his debut for the club.

The stunning strike remained the only goal on the board as the time ticked away, though Wednesday began to push for a leveler.

While it looked like the visitors would hold on to book their spot in the fifth round, Wednesday leveled the score dramatically thanks to a Djeidi Gassama strike.
