As has been the case on countless occasions before, Manchester United will likely wait until the end of the transfer window before signing a stop-gap striker addition.
To say the Red Devils’ summer has been uneventful thus far is an understatement, to the point fans are pulling their hair out over the sheer lack of action on both the incomings and outgoings front.
INEOS have only bolstered Ruben Amorim’s options with their early acquisition of Matheus Cunha, while they’re yet to agree deals that sees the current crop of exiled players depart.

The intention was there to beat competitors to Liam Delap’s signature early doors – until he chose Chelsea over his other suitors due to them providing him the chance to play Champions League football next season.
That has, however, opened the door for United to potentially swoop in and offer one Chelsea outcast a route to securing more game time: Nicolas Jackson.
He has fallen hugely out of favour upon the arrivals of Delap and Joao Pedro, the latter of whom netted a brace on his club debut in the Club World Cup semi-final before adding to his account with a goal in their final triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.
Jackson started just once at the tournament and featured another two times off the bench throughout Chelsea’s seven-game route to lifting the trophy last Sunday – albeit he was suspended for two matches after being shown a red card in the second group-stage outing.
Amidst his uncertain situation in Enzo Maresca’s plans, United have reportedly established their interest in the 24-year-old this week, but they’re not the only English outfit mulling over a move.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Wednesday evening that ‘Premier League clubs [are] making initial approaches’ for the Senegal internatonal, who’s notched 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances since his Stamford Bridge switch in July 2023.
