Willem Geubbels could be on his way to Kenilworth Road, with the Hatters reported to be in advanced talks to sign him on loan.
Luton Town are now in "advanced talks" to recruit St Gallen striker Willem Geubbels.
This is according to Foot Mercato, who have tipped the player to make the move to the Hatters during this transfer window, amid links with other Championship teams.
Geubbels, 23, made the move to Switzerland in 2023 to try and secure more game time at a senior level, something he has been able to do.
He has been particularly impressive this season, scoring fairly regularly for his team - and that has allowed him to attract interest from elsewhere.
Leeds United, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion have all been linked with a move for the forward - and all three teams could benefit from strengthening their striker departments before the January window closes.
The Whites have recently loaned out Joe Gelhardt, and with Patrick Bamford currently on the sidelines, they only have a limited number of options in their striker area at this stage.
West Brom, meanwhile, have lost Josh Maja to a severe injury, so bringing in a new striker or two could be crucial to their promotion hopes.
According to Foot Mercato, Luton are now in "advanced talks" to sign Geubbels, which indicates that they are closing in on a loan deal to recruit the 23-year-old.
They are reportedly keen to sign him during the current window, whilst others, including Norwich and West Brom, are more keen on striking a summer agreement for the forward.
The player is currently under contract until the summer of 2027. which could put his current team in a strong negotiating position if permanent offers come in for him during the next window or two.
Luton fans would probably be able to list quite a few areas where they'd like to see their team strengthen.
The centre-back area is one of those, with Tom Holmes struggling against Oxford United in midweek.
But their forward department is also an issue, surprisingly.
They may have the likes of Elijah Adebayo, Carlton Morris and Cauley Woodrow at their disposal, as well as Jacob Brown, but none of them have been prolific scorers this term, and a new forward could help to change their fortunes.
Geubbels could be a good signing - and could be a cheaper alternative to some other targets.
