Luis Rubiales has resigned from his post as president of the Spanish football federation.
Rubiales has been under immense scrutiny to step down after kissing Spain forward Jenni Hermoso after the Women’s World Cup final.

Hermoso filed a legal complaint against Rubiales on Tuesday, which appears to have been the final straw for the former president.
In a statement published on social media, Rubiales had this to say: “I will defend my honorability. I will defend my innocence. I have faith in the future. I have faith in the truth. Thank you all.”
