PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos has been cleared of any wrongdoings by UEFA following his half-time outburst during the Champions League RO16 first leg tie between Les Parisiens and Liverpool, according to L’Equipe. Arne Slot’s Reds eventually came away winners courtesy of Harvey Elliott’s 87th-minute dagger, but it could have been a different story altogether had Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté received a red card in the first half. The defender shoved his France international teammate Bradley Barcola as the last man. The situation has been reviewed by VAR, but Italian referee Davide Massa stuck with his on-field decision.

Campos vented his rage at Massa in the tunnel leading to the Parc des Princes’ dressing rooms, shouting the situation should have resulted in a red card for Konaté or for a penalty for PSG – although Konaté’s contact with Barcola looks to have occurred outside the penalty box. Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk was also heard telling Campos this was not Ligue 1.“

L’Equipe understands that UEFA will not open any disciplinary proceedings aimed at Campos, as the scene was not considered serious enough for a case to be opened and a sanction imposed on the Portuguese. The outlet adds that the game’s delegate did not even include Campos’ outburst in his report.
