Moments after Lucas Vazquez announced his departure, Real Madrid issued a statement. Los Blancos have confirmed they will hold a farewell ceremony in honor of the Spanish player.

Lucas Vazquez will receive a proper send-off. At least that's what Real Madrid announced this Wednesday. "Real Madrid CF announces that tomorrow, Thursday, July 17, at 1:00 p.m., a tribute and farewell ceremony will take place at Ciudad Real Madrid for our player Lucas Vázquez, attended by our president, Florentino Pérez." reads the official statement.

Out of contract, the Spanish full-back leaves after 11 years with Los Merengues. He has been part of all the club’s major triumphs over the past decade, including the five Champions League titles won by La Casa Blanca (2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2024). The 34-year-old has made 402 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 38 goals. After playing in the Club World Cup, the Spaniard is rumored to be heading to the Gulf or to Turkey, where Fenerbahçe are reportedly keen on him.

Lucas Vazquez confirmed his departure in a post on social media, addressing the fans: "Dear Madridistas, it's been almost two decades since I arrived at Valdebebas at the age of 16, full of dreams and excitement to wear this shirt. Every step of the journey has been a gift and, over time, Madrid became my home. We have lived unforgettable nights together, celebrated 23 titles, and created memories that will forever be etched in my heart.
