FC Lorient are looking to bring veteran goalkeeper Steve Mandanda (40) to the club, according to a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
Lorient are currently preparing for life back in Ligue 1 following their promotion from Ligue 2. Clarifying the goalkeeper situation is a priority for Les Merlus. Their current No.1 Yvon Mvogo (31) could leave this summer. The Swiss goalkeeper’s deal with the Breton club expires at the end of the month.
As a result, Lorient have made an attempt to sign Mandanda from Stade Rennais. The Frenchman’s deal with Lorient’s Breton rivals expires at the end of this month, too, and a free transfer is a possibility. Lorient have even made signing the former Olympique de Marseille shotstopper their priority, however, Mandanda is taking his time to consider.
This lack of response has led Les Merlus to offer a two-year extension to Mvogo. The Swiss goalkeeper is yet to respond.
