Liverpool’s loss could be Man United’s gain as club plots summer move for Chilean wonderkid Dario Osorio | OneFootball

INEOS have made it clear that they are looking at signing young players with immense potential instead of big-name signings, a ploy that the Glazers used to little effect on the pitch.

Erik ten Hag is someone who clearly likes left-footed players and with Antony’s future far from secure, a winger who can play on both wings would be a welcome addition.

Manchester United are struggling to score goals at the moment and they need all the help they can get and Tipsbladet have revealed that the club are tracking a South American talent currently plying his trade in Denmark.

As relayed by The Peoples Person, the Red Devils are looking at talents from that region and the latest star to be scouted by the club is FC Midtjylland’s Dario Osorio.

Osorio being scouted

The Chilean mainly plays on the right flank but can also operate on the opposite side and he had notched nine goals last season. He has been on fire this term, netting thrice including on his Europa League debut.

Interestingly, United’s arch-rivals Liverpool were heavily linked with the 20-year-old and even offered the Danish outfit €10 million in the summer but they turned down the offer.

Midtjylland feel they have an absolute superstar in their ranks and will only let him go should a record bid be placed by potential suitors with Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Real Sociedad also in the race.

“In FC Midtjylland, the management knows very well that the offensive midfielder is hot, and the interest makes it obvious that the 20-year-old Chilean must be sold next summer for what could very well be one of the biggest sums ever in the Super League.”

He has been described as a player with enormous potential and he stands out due to his superior technique, a powerful shot, speed and a mature understanding of the game.

“It is a gift that he is in Danish football. He is a player who is going to break through at higher addresses. There was great wonder that he chose the Super League. What he’s particularly good at is making everything look playfully easy for him when he has this sliding run.

“He has a very nice shot from distance. And then he has shown that he can do something. It’s not just show-boating. He is made of the right stuff. So I think it is on borrowed time before he gets a big sale from FC Midtjylland,” football expert Francis Dickoh was quoted as saying.

The Chile international is currently valued at €7 million according to Transfermarkt and his deal is valid until 2028, which places the Danish club in a position of strength when it comes to transfer negotiations.

The wonderkid certainly fits INEOS’ profile of targets they are keen to acquire and it will be intriguing to see if the 20-time English league champions can get one over Liverpool by acquiring Osorio.
