Bayern Munich are reportedly stepping up their interest in Liverpool forward Luis Diaz after Jamal Musiala suffered a serious leg injury. The Colombia international has “already assured the Munich club of his willingness to move” this summer, though no formal negotiations have taken place with Liverpool yet.
The Bundesliga giants are said to view Diaz as their primary candidate to strengthen the left flank, with Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade also being monitored. Diaz has emerged as a priority as Bayern look to fill the void created by Musiala’s injury in their Club World Cup quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool’s stance remains firm. The club have made it clear to both Bayern and Barcelona that Diaz is not for sale. While there has been no public desire from Diaz to leave Anfield, growing interest from Europe and beyond has fuelled speculation around his future.

Last week, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr remain firmly in the mix, stating: “Diaz remains Al-Nassr’s top left-wing target, even after Liverpool told Barcelona he is not for sale. Nassr prepared to offer in excess of €85m (£73m). Diaz was open to Barcelona, but still unclear if he’ll consider Saudi.”
Valued at around €70 million, Diaz remains a key figure under Arne Slot, having registered 17 goals and five assists across all competitions last season. His energy, directness and work rate made him a standout performer in Liverpool’s Premier League-winning campaign.
While the club are under no pressure to sell, there is awareness that such interest from clubs like Bayern and Al-Nassr may become more concrete before the window closes. Liverpool are also looking to manage their summer spending after bringing in Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
Whether Diaz departs or remains part of Slot’s plans for the new season will depend on Bayern’s willingness to meet Liverpool’s valuation, and the player’s final decision if a formal bid materialises.
