Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed right-back Conor Bradley is likely to miss at least the next two games after limping off late in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.

Bradley was the first substitute off the bench 66 minutes in as Slot offered a rest to goalscorer Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he would not complete the game, slumping to the turf in the dying embers before limping off with an apparent muscle injury.

With a trip to Manchester City coming on Sunday, Slot confirmed he expects Bradley to play no part.

"He felt something when he made a sprint," Slot revealed. "All the time with injuries, I always say if a player wants to go off himself then it's not a promising sign.

"It means he is 99.9% not available for Manchester City and I don't expect him against Newcastle either. We will have to see if it is one, two weeks or longer."

With Joe Gomez also out injured, Liverpool now have no natural cover for Alexander-Arnold, who is likely to have to play almost every minute until at least one senior understudy returns to action.

20-year-old midfielder James McConnell did take up the right-back role in Liverpool's surprise FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle and could provide an alternative for Slot, who has spoken highly of his admiration for the academy star.
