For these roles, Liverpool are pursuing Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi. But they are not the only players on the club's radar.

In fact, Liverpool are also exploring a transfer for a versatile attacker. Who that might be remains to be seen but the likes of Rodrygo or Malick Fofana could both be options.

And on top of that, according to a recent report from Brazil Liverpool are even looking at an attacking midfielder, who has a knack for making contributions in front of the opposition's goal.

One thing that has been very deliberate from Liverpool's recruitment this summer is that they aren't just looking at the present. They are building a team for the future.

This is why the players that have come in have all been under the age of 24, with the exception of Freddie Woodman.

Notably, the likes of Giovanni Leoni, Will Wright and Armin Pecsi have all been signings that are definitely going to strengthen Liverpool's depth for now, but long-term could become key players for the club in the future.

Hughes' latest move could be a similar transfer for Liverpool. According to Brazilian outlet GE Globo, Liverpool are one of the club's who have enquired about talented 18-year-old attacking midfielder Isaque.

The Fluminense youngster made 19 goal contributions in 29 matches for the club's U20 and U17 side, and has already made his debut for the club's first team as well.

He's a silky midfielder who likes to play in behind the forward and find the spaces between the opposition's defence and midfield.

At 18-years-old, he's eligible to move to the United Kingdom as per FIFA rules, so Liverpool could do a deal with him right now.

The report claims the club continue to monitor him. Although they are not the only ones interested in his services. Manchester City have also made an enquiry. Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk have even had an offer rejected for him.

Whether Liverpool follow up with an offer themselves remains to be seen. They are certainly keeping a close eye on the situation.

Michael Edwards and his recruitment team have always been keen to break into the South American market, especially Brazil where the Reds have a strong scouting presence.

Perhaps Isaque could be the first of such moves.
