Liverpool are very well stocked in the goalkeeping department at present although changes are likely by the start of next season.
With Giorgi Mamardashvili coming to the club on a permanent basis after his Valencia loan ends, it leaves the future of Alisson Becker and deputy Caoimhin Kelleher in the balance.
Further down the pecking order - and the age ranks - are Vitezslav Jaros and the highly-rated Kornel Miściur but there are signs that sporting director Richard Hughes has one eye on improving the area further.
Reports in Tuttosport suggest that Liverpool ‘above all’ other suitors are interested in adding a new goalkeeper to the ranks.
Renato Marin, 18, left Sao Paulo back in 2022 for the Roma under-17s, benefitting from a dual Brazilian-Italian passport. He has since risen steadily through the ranks for the Italian capital club, emerging as Italy’s first-choice goalkeeper at U19 level in the process.
Marin has even appeared on the bench for the Roma first team this season despite his tender years. The Brazil-born stopper is widely expected to become one of the best goalkeeping talents in the years ahead with a clamour now emerging for his signature ahead of his Roma contract expiry next summer.

Marin’s camp are said to be unhappy at Roma delaying contract negotiations with the Roma Primavera star and talks are reported to have broken down. That has alerted Inter and Juventus to his potential availability with Juve able to provide a pathway to the first team from their Next Gen setup.
Marin comes with additional star quality in that he possesses extraordinary ability with the ball at his feet. At youth level he would often instigate attacks through dribbling and started his career in Futsal as a defender before moving between the sticks.
He even had a viral moment back in 2016 as a 10-year-old when a Brazilian Paulista selection travelled to Spain for the Iscar Cup.

Against Espanyol in the quarter-finals, the goalkeeper stunned onlookers by striding forward and despatching a long-range free-kick into the top corner. It was an extraordinary moment for Marin, whose career has gone from strength to strength in the years since.
According to reports he took plenty of free-kicks and penalty kicks in his youth days, earning comparisons to Sao Paulo’s legendary goalscoring goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni.
