Liverpool improve contract renewal bid for Ibrahima Konaté | OneFootball

Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté (26) has received an improved contract renewal offer from the Premier League champions, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The France international has entered his final contract year on Merseyside and Liverpool have now shown that they have no intention of letting Konaté run his five-year contract down. L’Equipe previously reported that the Premier League champions were determined to extend Konaté’s deal.

Foot Mercato reports that Real Madrid, who know a thing or two regarding signing players on a free, is of interest for Konaté, should he decide to leave Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad. The centre-back has so far turned down the contract renewal bids Liverpool sent to him. However, the Reds’ latest attempt to extend Konaté’s stay at Anfield shows that Liverpool have no intention of walking away from contract negotiations with the former RB Leipzig centre-back.
