Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield in the ongoing winter transfer window and also in the summer transfer window. Hence, they are scouring the transfer market for the best midfield options. A recent report from Spanish outlet Fichajes has stated the Reds have liked the Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and are also ready to bid €50 million for his signature. However, the report also adds that Manchester City are also ready to compete for his signature with the Reds.

Aurelien Tchouameni has been inconsistent since he moved to Real Madrid?

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League points table and also the UEFA Champions League points table. The new manager, Arne Slot, has been sensational since taking over from Jurgen Klopp and has instilled his ideas very well into the side. They have signed only one player in the summer transfer window, and it is Federico Chiesa. However, he has not been that effective in this season.

They went after Martin Zubimendi but failed to sign him. Hence, they are looking for more quality in the midfield, and the latest reports say that Tchouameni of Los Blancos have attracted attention, and they are eager to get him.

It is up to Real Madrid to decide if Liverpool will manage to get his signing in the ongoing January transfer window. The Los Blancos have been suffering in the defensive line due to injury problems, and hence Carlo Ancelotti has used Tchouameni in the backline. So, any discussion of letting the player leave mid-season falls apart. However, the player has been very inconsistent in the team, and hence Perez won’t back away from selling him in the summer transfer window of 2025.

Many clubs have been keeping tabs on the player, and besides Liverpool, Pep Guardiola also wants him for his Manchester City side. His side has been struggling due to Rodri’s absence in the midfield and hence might bank on Tchouameni to do the favours.

Will Liverpool get him?

The player had made his intentions clear that he would want to leave Santiago Bernabeu. However, he won’t force an exit in the mid-season, but the Reds have come up with an offer of €50 million for him. It will be an initial payment of €35 million, and the next €15 million will be paid in the next month. However, it is not likely that Los Blancos will accept the offer given that they have paid more for his signing and will look to get something close to their investment.

They aren’t looking to sell the Frenchman in the winter transfer window, but Liverpool might come up with an even bigger offer to see if they can lure Madrid into the deal.
